Visitors!

So I love love love (yes, that was 3 loves) having visitors. In the last month or so we've had a few of my favorite people. Our first visitor of the year was Annette, Andy's mom. We had fun watching movies, playing Wii, and my favorite memory of the trip, all 3 of us going to get pedicures. Andy absolutely didn't want to do it, but once we got him there he loved it! It was so great.

Andy LOVING his first pedicure!

Then my mom came down for the weekend! It was the first time just my mom came down which was kinda nice to get to do all the girl stuff we wouldn't probably do if my dad and brother were here. We went to Zilker Park, botanical gardens, saw "She's Just Not That Into You" with a couple of my friends, shopped on South Congress, ate at Home Slice (the best pizza ever, and I say that having done lots of my own research on this topic ;) ). I would say my favorite part of the weekend though was my mom teaching me how to make chicken broth.... Who knew that chicken broth was like a 6 hour process? It was awesome though, and sadly I used the last of it this week. My mom is a great cook and gardener, both things I aspire to be so I try to soak up as much knowledge as I can when I am around her!
I cannot deny that I am turning into my mom, but in my books that is a good thing, because my mom is a pretty awesome person. Love you and miss you little mama!

Our most recent visitor was one of my best friends, Holly. We have been friends since middle school and I am so blessed to know her. It was kind of a rainy weekend without a whole lot going on so we layed low, talked and talked and then talked some more, and of course ate lots of yummy food. We also did a lots and lots of shopping and found all these cute little shops and boutiques which was super fun.

So now that summer is right around the corner, we look forward to many many more visitors!!!!

Bedroom Before and After!

We finished the bedroom! We only really worked on it for about a month, but it seemed like so much longer. Popcorn ceilings aren't looking quite so bad to me anymore....
I am so so so happy with the results. Not the Andy's Wal-Mart clearance 10 year old furniture wasn't fabulous, but it is so nice to actually have stuff that "goes" together. After "the yellow room" disaster (our 2nd bedroom is what has been described as high-liter yellow (and that person was putting it nicely!) I was a bit dubious of my ability to make good house/decorating choices. I think I put all the things we did to it above so I won't repeat myself-but basically anything that could be changed was. Andy did me proud again.

Slowly making our way into the 21st century

Hello! So we wanted to make a place where we could share a little about what is going on in our lives. We love the individual emails that we have back and forth to all of you, and hope to continue that, but hopefully can keep in even better touch with even more friends and family on here as well. I am a picture taker, case in point being the fact that I took a 12 pictues at the city dump yesterday, much to Andy's embarrassment- so many many pictures to come! We miss and love you all so very much!
