To my Valentine
Sweetest Andy,
All those lame things people say at the end of terrible chick-flicks about how you complete me and I can't imagine my life without you. Yeah, I feel like our life is the last 15 minutes of those terrible movies. Not a day goes by I don't think "How did I sucker this guy into spending his life with me?". There is only one answer. You are a gift from God to me.
Thank you for being my husband. You are so good at it. Leaving me little notes, always holding my hand, saying "smooch smooch" on the phone when I know you are at work and others can hear you but you just don't care, and your patience with me when I am less than an ideal wife (read: acting bratty and hard headed, which is more than I'd like to admit). And can I just say, you are also one good lookin man. Looks good in a suit? Check. Looks good with torn up jeans and covered in grease? Check. My honey has it goin on :)
I told you this morning I was going to write you a love letter, so here it is. You are the love of my life, my heart is swollen with pride that I get to be your wife, I love the life we've made for ourselves, and can't wait to see all the wonderful adventures we will have together. After nearly 5 years of marriage and 12+ years of knowing you, you make my heart pitter patter. Love you honey.

Good times are here
So far this morning I booked ticket to New York for a girl's weekend with my nearest and dearest friends from Oklahoma(followed by dance party to Empire State of Mind in the living room), migas at my favorite taqueria, and then dinner tonight with sweet Dinah and Kim- just a plain ol GREAT day. I love having something to look forward to and am really looking forward to getting some warmer weather, getting out of the house, and having some fun this Spring. Hope everyone is having an awesome Saturday!

Super Bowl Par-tay 2011
So we hosted the Super Bowl party again this year and because last year we had a serious seating shortage, thought maybe we could do a little better this year. Now my simple minded idea was to "We need more chairs". Makes sense. We could do that. Andy is a little more ambitious than me though. So he did what anyone would do when they've got a whole lotta people coming over. Built stadium seating for couches.
So Saturday Andy and Mr. Ryan Morrow built the platforms. It is sturdy. Like a rock. They were proud and it was cute (sorry boys but it was). Boys+powertools+wood+anything excessive (especially to watch football)= testosterone high.
Here are the manly men

So it was a great party and just like last year I'm reminded of the fact that one of the biggest blessing in our life is all the wonderful friendships we have. Our house is not big. At all. And people know when they come over it will be crowded and loud and there is a big chance you might have to sit on the floor. Despite that, 32 people came over last night and it was simply a great night.
This was just SOME of the food. I may be rolling myself inflated self around for a few days but totally worth it!

Who needs Black Eyed Peas when you can weld and hang out in the garage for the half time?

Apples to Apples > Football

Did everyone have a good Super Bowl? Are you bloated with Velveeta today (don't be ashamed I'm guessing 75% of Americans are today? What commercials do I need to watch?

Snow in AUSTIN!
For the past week or so I have been seeing all these crazy pictures from my Okie friends and family of snow. My parents have 15 inches right now and are expecting a couple more storms over the next few days! Eek! I've been dreaming of snow days and get the teeniest bit jealous when I hear they get yet another day off work are drinking hot chocolate and snuggling up under covers watching movies all week. Well we got ours!
This morning we woke up to probably just under an inch of snow! Molly LOVES snow and we had to take her for a walk and watch her prance around in it a bit.

See her frozen beard? She doesn't seem to notice the cold at all and was so happy running around in it.

Hope everyone is staying warm and toasty inside and enjoying this very rare Austin weather. As for my friends and family in Oklahoma- hope you aren't getting too stir crazy!

Visit from a Luksys
So the last 9 days we've had a house guest- Andy's cousin from Canada! It was special because Andy has never met anyone on his father's side of the family. Long story but basically they all live in Canada and hopefully one day we will meet them. I am friends with some of his cousins on facebook and have talk to Scott for a couple years online and he stopped to spend some time with us on his way to Africa to volunteer for the next six months. He is a great guy and it was fun to hang out with him and do some fun stuff the last week or so. Scott drew us a family tree so we learned that Andy has 6 uncles and aunts, 7 cousins, and 6 second cousins. Also got to hear stories about his grandparents that are apparently still really healthy and active and in their 90's.
While we has here we learned he hadn't really ever had Mexican food (gasp!) so we felt it was our responsibility, no, our duty to expose him to the wonderful world of fajitas, margaritas, and guacamole. We also went to Alamo Drafthouse, played lots of board games, I learned to play poker, and must fun of all, listen to, and from time to time make fun of, his way awesome Canadian accent "I'm going owwt and abowwwt". Good times eh?
