Luling Watermelon Thump 2012

So we had a fun Saturday. We headed about an hour and half south of Austin to Luling Texas. It is the cutest little town you ever saw and boy howdy do these people love them some watermelon. We strolled through their downtown and just fantasized about how sweet little country life would be. But then when I thought I might have to give up HEB, Green Leaf, and Chuy's....I was over my little country fantasy ;) It was such a fun little day though and we will definitely be going back for years to come.

They had watermelon everything....I was tempted to rock out this tye dyed getup, I mean it's classy, incredibly versatile, what's not to love?

This guy started singing right before we left (we were glad we missed of his "show" because he wasn't the best and we were like two feet from him). Ruby was completely mesmerized by him and wouldn't look away.

Of course we had to stop at one of the many watermelon stands and get our own to take home. This sucker is ginormous and of course delicious!

Grandma and Paw Paw came to visit their Ruby girl...oh and I suppose us too ;) We were all pretty excited about the visit because they had been down here since January and we had only had a quick one night visit back in March since then. Needless to say, Ruby has done lots of growing up in the last few months and they were anxious to see her.

It was such a good visit, we ate some good Okie cooking, Andy and I got to go out a couple times on our own which was a real treat, and just show off our little girl. Were there many conversations revolving around how Ruby is the world's cutest AND smartest baby? Maybe. Hey, it's nice to gush about her and not have a filter every once in a while with people that adore her as much as we do.

  It was a wonderful visit and we are already ready for the next one! Love you guys.
